Simpson Wong

Child Psychology Specialist

Simpson Wong joined Edukey in March 2007 as Child Psychology Specialist and is active in the areas of child development research, program design, and workshop facilitation.

Simpson is interested in understanding how children succeed and fail to learn different kind of skills, especially those related to language and literacy acquisition. Given his enthusiasm in understanding children’s learning, Simpson has been conducting research on language and literacy development and specific learning difficulties for more than 5 years.

Being a full-time researcher of various joint-university projects, Simpson has the hottest information about learning and cognition in Hong Kong children. Research findings of these studies have benefited many non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Hong Kong, and will also be utilized in Edukey’s parent workshops when appropriate.

Apart from research work, Simpson is involved in the development of psycho-educational assessment tools such as The Hong Kong Learning Behaviour Checklist for Pre-school Children (Parent Version) and Hong Kong Test of Specific Learning Difficulties in Reading and Writing. Also, Simpson is teaching developmental psychology for the Educational Psychology department at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Simpson received his Bachelor and Master degrees in Psychology at the University of Hong Kong and will pursue a doctorate degree at the University of Oxford in October.
